Skillbase Consulting was established in August 2001 the founding directors have more than 40 years of experience in high-level recruitment and senior client account management.

Steve Lines

Founder and Managing Director

Following an earlier career in sales, I moved into recruitment. Having gained success winning and managing many global accounts I decided to set up Skillbase in 2001. The main objective was to provide a more flexible and streamline approach to contract recruitment.

Since then Skillbase has been working with many international corporations providing recruitment and workforce management solutions globally.

Director

After a career that started in banking from leaving school, I switched to a more engaging role in recruitment.

Rising to the role of Senior Consultant before joining forces with Steve Lines at Skillbase, I now oversee the operations side of business whilst still very hands-on with the recruitment team.

Skillbase has gone from strength to strength placing contractors across Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia and America focusing on various niches in the Telco and IT sectors. Our Contract Management business continues to grow as we take the hassles of managing their contingent workforce and suppliers away from clients.

Recruitment wasn’t an industry I planned on building a career in, but here I am 10 years on working with global companies helping them recruit the best talent in the IT & Telco industry.

I started at Skillbase working as a resourcer and as I gained experience gradually moved into the role of Principal Consultant which I work as today.

So here’s to the next 10 years!!

Skillbase is an exciting environment to work in. Having been with the company for nearly 6 years, I have had the pleasure to communicate with candidates from all walks of life.

I have the responsibility of making sure the contracts and invoices are completed on time. My role is challenging, but a happy candidate at the end of the month makes it all worthwhile.

I am looking forward to a long future with Skillbase, looking after our existing and future candidates.
