Modern Slavery Statement

This statement is made as part of Skillbase Group’s commitment to eliminating the exploitation of people under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the Act). It summarises how Skillbase Group operates, the policies and processes in place to minimise the possibility of any problems, any risks we have identified and how we monitor them, and how we train our staff.

About Us

Skillbase Group is a group of limited companies incorporating Skillbase Consulting Ltd (04266280) and Skillbase Contractor Management Services Ltd (05821658) operating in the recruitment sector. We provide introduction services and supply temporary workers in the IT sectors and provide contractor management services.

All the hirers that we work with, and all the work-seekers we provide, are known to and identified by our staff. All the temporary workers we supply are identified by our staff. Some of these work-seekers operate through their own limited companies. Some of our work-seekers are supplied via other businesses, who facilitate providing them to the eventual hiring company.

The hiring companies that we work with are located primarily in the United Kingdom and Europe, but we also make placements in the rest of the world. The workers we supply live primarily in the United Kingdom and Europe, however we source suitable candidates from all parts of the world.

Skillbase Group has a Modern Slavery Policy.

In addition, Skillbase Group operates several policies which incorporate ethical standards for our staff and our suppliers.

Skillbase Group’s policies are established by our directors, based on advice from HR professionals, industry best practice and legal advice. We review our policies on a regular, or as needed to adapt to changes.

Our Commitment

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. Our Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.

Supply Chain

In order to fulfil its activities, Skillbase Group’s main supply chain includes the likes of job boards, media companies, management and umbrella companies and other business partners including office equipment/stationary suppliers, IT providers and office cleaners.

Skillbase Group does not enter into business with any other organisation, in the United Kingdom or abroad, which knowingly supports or is found to involve itself in slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour.

Training and Systems

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we ensure that our employees particularly those with procurement and employment responsibility are aware of how they can assist in tackling modern slavery and human trafficking.

We have in place systems to:

  • Identify and assess potential risk areas in our supply chains.
  • Mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains.
  • Monitor potential risk areas in our supply chains.
  • Protect whistle blowers.
  • Supplier adherence to our values

We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking.

All our staff receive training and support that is appropriate to their role. In particular:

  • Our leadership team receive detailed training in identifying and resolving concerns around modern slavery and human trafficking.
  • All our staff receive awareness-raising information around issues involving modern slavery and human trafficking, so that they can bring any concerns they have to the attention of management. As part of this, our staff are encouraged to discuss any concerns that they have.

Training is refreshed regularly.
